THE PROPHETIC FOXES, Pt.2

THE PROPHETIC FOXES, Pt.2

In the previous article we discussed a dream I had where I saw a man in the desert transform into a fox and run away from me. We discussed the biblical meaning of this dream in reference to prophets today who mirror much of the issues that Ezekiel had with the prophets in his day. We also talked about how Mike Lindell and his company “My Pillow” is a sign of the “Pillow Prophets” who have grown in strength and power during the Trump era, and how God is dealing with them presently. In today’s article we’ll look into some more scripture and see what else the Lord might show us about prophets through the prophetic symbolism of the fox. We’ll start with finishing some thoughts from Ezekiel 13 where our key scripture for this series is located.

(Ezek.13:3-4)

“Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing! O Israel, thy prophets are like the foxes in the deserts.”

(Ezek.13:22-23)

22 Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life:

23 Therefore ye shall see no more vanity, nor divine divinations: for I will deliver my people out of your hand: and ye shall know that I am the Lord€

Once again, you see that these false prophets turn everything upside down. They make the heart of the righteous sad when God hasn’t made them sad, and they strengthen those who should not be strengthened. False prophets strengthen those who are wicked. They strengthen the agenda of the wicked ones, promising life to those who do not have that promise outside of Christ. They do this because they see “vanity” and they see “divine divinations”.

The word divine here in the Hebrew is qāsam which refers to the “practice of divination/witchcraft”, not to be confused with “divine” speaking of “coming from God”. This word is used in (1 Sam.28:8) when Saul came to the witch of Endor by night in disguise requesting for her to “divine” (qasam) for him by her “familiar spirit”, and “bring up” Samuel’s spirit so He could commune with him. This is a very interesting story because it seems that the witch, via the power of a familiar spirit, did actually bring up the spirit of Samuel, and Samuel did give Saul a real prophecy of his imminent death (1 Sam.28:19). It’s another reminder that just because someone is “divining” accurate information from the spirit realm does not mean that they’re doing it through pure and holy means. Supernatural manifestation does not make someone a legitimate prophet in the Lord’s eyes.

Such was the case with the false prophets that Ezekiel had to contend with. They were divining accurate information at times from the spirit realm, but it was by a familiar spirit, similar to the one that the witch of Endor moved in. These prophets were more destructive because they were desert foxes spiritually. They were cunning and disguised as true prophets of the Lord. Many of them, no doubt, were even more convincing because they probably honestly thought that they were moving in the true Spirit of the Lord, but it took a prophet like Ezekiel to expose them and reveal the truth about what spirit they were really of. The most convincing false prophets are always the ones who are genuinely deceived themselves, not the ones who are willfully deceiving God’s people.

OTHER SCRIPTURES THAT DEAL WITH THE FOXES

(Lam.5:18)

“Because of the mountain of Zion, which is desolate, the foxes walk upon it.”

In the Lamentations, which is the beautiful book containing the words written in the tears of the weeping prophet Jeremiah, He recalls one particular sorrow which involved “the foxes”. These foxes he said were “walking upon” the desolation which had become Mount Zion. These foxes, these false prophets, had presided over the downfall and desolation of Jerusalem, the holy city, just as false prophets today are presiding over the downfall and desolation of America. They are the desert foxes. What once was green, lush, and teaming with life has become the desolate desert, all because a nation did not heed the warnings of true prophets, but instead have heaped up unto themselves prophets and teachers who have itched their ears (2 Tim.4:3).

(Song of Sol.2:15)

“Catch us the foxes, The little foxes that spoil the vines, For our vines have tender grapes.”

(Jn.15:5)

“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”

(Matt.7:15)

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.”

The vine is Christ and the false prophets are sent to separate us from Christ who is our true source of life. They separate us from Christ by getting us to depend on their words, their prophecies, their hopes, and their promises rather than the words of Christ. They elevate their words either to the same level or above the scriptures, thus cutting off the life giving flow of Christ through the word to his people. This is how these foxes spoil the vines and pollute the vineyard. We should have taken heed unto what the Master was warning of us, particularly in these last days. We should have stuck with the word no matter what.

(Judges 15:1-4)

1 “After a while, in the time of wheat harvest, it happened that Samson visited his wife with a young goat. And he said, “Let me go into my wife, into her room.” But her father would not permit him to go in.

2 Her father said, “I really thought that you thoroughly hated her; therefore I gave her to your companion. Is not her younger sister better than she? Please, take her instead.”

3 And Samson said to them, “This time I shall be blameless regarding the Philistines if I harm them!”

4 Then Samson went and caught three hundred foxes; and he took torches, turned the foxes tail to tail, and put a torch between each pair of tails.

5 When he had set the torches on fire, he let the foxes go into the standing grain of the Philistines, and burned up both the shocks and the standing grain, as well as the vineyards and olive groves.

6 Then the Philistines said, “Who has done this?” And they answered, “Samson, the son-in-law of the Timnite, because he has taken his wife and given her to his companion.” So the Philistines came up and burned her and her father with fire.”

When the time of the harvest has come the Lord will come for his gentile bride, but will He still find faith on the earth (Lk.18:8)? Will he find in his church a faithful bride, waiting in her room (the secret place) to consummate with her Lord, or will He find a harlot church in the arms of the world just as Israel played the harlot in the days of their betrothal?

The Father (the leadership of the church) will have an excuse. They’ll say, “I thought you thoroughly hated her”. Sounds like the excuse that the servant gave when He was asked to give an account for the talent he buried. He said, “Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed” (Matt.25:24). We always have an excuse why we have not been faithful to the Lord and why we are not ready for his coming, just as Adam had an excuse when the Lord came wondering why He had eaten of the forbidden tree. He blamed it on God, just like we do. He said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate” (Gen.3:12).

So what do we find at the Lord’s coming when He sees the church’s backslidden adulterous state? We find the King and Judge who turns to judge and make war (Rev.19:11). We find the double-edged sword with which He strikes the nations, and the grapes of wrath being poured out (Rev.19:15). We find the Lord striking kings in the day of his wrath, judging among the heathen, filling places with the dead bodies, and wounding the heads of many nations (Ps.110:5-6). Just as Samson’s fiery jealousy could not be quenched, so will the Lord’s fiery jealousy not be quenched on that day.

Jeremiah lamented over the foxes (the false prophets) presiding over the desolation of Zion, and here you see in the prophetic story of Samson, the foxes igniting the fires of judgment in the harvest. The Lord is harvesting his bride, bringing the wheat into his storehouse, but the Lord will also watch over and set fire to the harvest of the Philistines. The Lord will watch over and ignite the judgment of the world and it’s systems in the last days, and the false prophets play a big role in calling down that fire which shall come.

In Elijah’s day the false prophets screamed, yelled, cut themselves, and did manner of nonsense trying to invoke the powers that animated them to give them a victory that day. But when the fire really did fall it was not in answer to the false prophets, it was in answer to Elijah. The fire which came was on the basis of Elijah doing all that he did “according to the word of the Lord” (1 Kings 18:36). So it in these last days. The false prophets have empowered Jezebel and Ahab in the church, they’ve empowered Jezebel and Ahab in the land, and in the end all their power and influence will be for nothing. In the day that the fire shall be kindled in Zion it shall destroy all they’ve helped to build in the righteous judgment of God. Wood, hay, and stubble shall be devoured with unquenchable fire (1 Cor.3:12). The compromised adulterous church (Samson’s gentile bride), with all of her vain works, along with her father (The Hierarchical Leadership of the Church) shall go through that fiery judgment (the last great tribulation), and only those who endure til’ the end shall be saved.

May the Lord deliver you from the jaws of the desert foxes. May you be found pure, clean, washed in the water of the word (Eph.5:26), ready to meet the Master when He comes. May the Lord our God deliver you from the snare of fowler, from the pestilence that walks in darkness, and may He cover you with his feathers as you abide under the shadow of Almighty in the secret place of the most High in these last days (Ps.91:1-6.
