In this message delivered by Stephen last Thursday to a group of leaders in Papillion, Nebraska, Stephen encourages the group with a fresh word He received from the Lord for the body of Christ in this season. In it Stephen ministers from Judges chapter 14 where Samson ventured down to Timnah to take a wife from among the Philistines. Although Samson’s parents didn’t understand why He couldn’t take a wife from among his own people the bible says that God had a plan in it (Judg.14:4). God was seeking to pick a fight with the enemy!
In like manner Jesus came and took a wife in the form of the church from among the Gentiles and the Jews couldn’t figure this out when it happened. But God had a plan in it. The Lord has come to tear the lion (Satan) in our lives and give us trophies from the battle that ensues. We should live for the spectacle that is victory for the sons of God over Satan and all of his works! This is the season we’re living in today! A season where God is looking to raise up champions who can pick a fight with the enemy. A season where God will even include our weaknesses and failures in his plan, not because he endorses weakness and failure but because by his foresight and grace He will make all things to work together for our good as we love him and are called according to his purpose!
